Your college career is an exercise in exploration. What will you study? Who will be your dorm mate? What looks will be part of the person you grow into?
Philips Norelco is encouraging our shoppers to be students of style—to try out something new just because and experiment with their grooming routines. That mustache might not make it to next semester, but at least it’ll make for a good story.
We’ll help students face the school year with an AI-based visualization tool to “try it before they trim it,” along with growth-based educational resources to help them craft their new styles.

1. QR code or retail media engagement
Shoppers are driven to the program hub, where they are welcomed by Adam Scott.
The user can explore the homepage of the experience by browsing various facial hair styles or step-by-step guides on how to achieve different looks.

2. Adam Scott intro video
A short video clip featuring Adam serves as a program intro, letting users know that they can find their look before they take their first step onto campus.

3. Choose your look
After clicking the “Try it out” button on the home page, users will be lead to a page with more detailed descriptions of the college-themed looks they can try.

4. Take your photo
The user can take a selfie or upload a photo of themselves, with the option to retake it as many times as they want.

5. Approve your photo
The user will approve their photo.

6. Choose hair color
Next, the user will be able to choose a hair color. Options include white/gray, black, red, blonde and brown.

7. New look created with AI
Using the uploaded photo and selected hair color options, the AI will work its magic, taking about a minute to generate the result of the originally selected facial hair style.

8. See your new look
The user will receive their photo results along with a recommended Philips Norelco product. From there, they can choose to save or share the photo, purchase the product directly, or view styling tips to achieve the look.

9. Show via SmartCommerce
After selecting "Add to Cart" from the results page, the user will be directed to a SmartCommerce page, where they can easily add their recommended product to their cart, with the option to choose from multiple retailers.

10. Learn how to style
After selecting "How to Style" from the results page, the user will be guided to a step-by-step tutorial with illustrated instructions on how to achieve their chosen look, using their recommended product from the experience.
